LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

At the heart of what we do is LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy. This approach treats a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship structure as healthy and valid, not as something to explain, question, or change. The therapist brings their own knowledge to the room, understands that discrimination and rejection cause real harm, and does the ordinary work of therapy from that starting point.

We also take a culturally responsive approach to care. This approach honors and validates a person’s lived experience, identities, relationships, and communities. It actively addresses the harm caused by racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, and ableism, while recognizing that your identity is a source of strength, culture, and resilience.

Your full identity matters here: gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, spirituality or religion, finances, physical health, age, and relationship patterns all shape how life feels and how healing happens.

We offer support for individuals, teens, and relationships. Our team of therapists uses a wide range of therapy approaches to meet your specific needs.

Care you can access

Meet your therapist

Research shows the single biggest predictor of whether therapy helps is the therapeutic relationship between you and your therapist. When you trust your therapist, feel safe with them, and agree on what you’re working toward together, therapy works better. Feeling heard, safe, and understood, including in your identity and culture, is what makes the hard work of therapy possible. We do our best to find you a great match, and your input matters.

Our team brings different specialties, styles, and lived experiences. Browse our team and use the filters to find your match. Use the filters to find therapists that meet your needs. Click their picture to see their bio. To see the full page, go to the Meet Our Team page.
